Why don’t the prices in the feed match my website?
When the prices in the feed don’t match the website, Google may reject your products or limit their visibility. Basically, the Merchant Center compares the price specified in the feed with the price displayed on the landing page. Therefore, even small discrepancies due to currency formatting or taxes can cause problems. Additionally, this also affects sale prices and strikethrough prices.
Price discrepancies between the feed and website often arise from different tax calculations, currency formats, or delayed feed updates. Furthermore, dynamic price adjustments on the website can cause the feed to contain outdated values. However, the issue can be reliably resolved through regular feed updates and correct price formatting.
Make sure your feed contains the same price including VAT that is displayed on the landing page. Therefore, you should correctly configure the tax settings in the Merchant Center. Additionally, it is recommended to set the feed update frequency to at least every six hours. More information is available in the Google help on price attributes.
Set up an automatic Content API connection that transmits price changes to the Merchant Center in real time. Basically, you should always map sale prices using the sale_price attribute instead of changing the main price. Furthermore, we recommend setting up a daily check of price mismatch warnings in the diagnostics. This ensures your products remain approved on an ongoing basis.
Price discrepancies in the feed are one of the most common rejection reasons in the Merchant Center. However, they can be reliably avoided through correct configuration and regular updates. Our Google Ads agency helps you with optimal feed setup.
