Why can’t I filter Search Console data by landing page?
If you cannot filter Search Console data by landing page in Looker Studio, this is due to the type of data connection. Furthermore, the Search Console connector in Looker Studio offers different tables that contain different dimensions. Additionally, the landing page dimension is not available in every table. In this article, we explain how to filter Search Console data by landing page in Looker Studio.
First of all, the Search Console connector offers different data tables. If you cannot filter Search Console data by landing page in Looker Studio, you may be using the wrong table. Moreover, the default ‘Site Impression’ table does not contain a URL dimension. Therefore, you need to select the ‘URL Impression’ table instead. For more details, see our guide on GA4 discrepancies.
First, open the data source settings of the Search Console connector. Additionally, under ‘Table’ select the ‘URL Impression’ option instead of ‘Site Impression’. Furthermore, you can then use the landing page dimension as a filter or dimension in your charts. According to Google’s documentation, different dimensions are available depending on the table type.
If you cannot filter Search Console data by landing page in Looker Studio, switch the table to ‘URL Impression’. Moreover, we recommend adding both table types as separate data sources. Additionally, note that the URL impression table may deliver slightly different totals. This way, you can effectively use Looker Studio to filter Search Console data by landing page.
In summary, filtering by landing page in Looker Studio requires the correct Search Console table. Need help with configuration? Our Looker Studio service team is happy to help.
