Why does Google Ads not show modeled conversions despite Consent Mode?
If Google Ads show modeled conversions despite having Consent Mode enabled, there can be several causes. Conversion modeling is a core feature of Advanced Consent Mode. However, certain prerequisites must be met for Google to be able to model the missing data. In addition, the system needs sufficient training data.
Google requires at least 100 conversions per day over a period of 7 days for modeling to be activated. Consequently, Google Ads does not show modeled values for smaller websites despite having Consent Mode. Furthermore, Advanced Consent Mode must be enabled, not just Basic Mode. Additionally, consent signals must be correctly transmitted to Google. Details can be found in our FAQ on consent status.
The Basic Consent Mode completely blocks all tags when consent is missing. As a result, Google receives no data for modeling. The Advanced Mode, on the other hand, sends anonymized pings that serve as the basis for conversion modeling. Therefore, Google Ads only shows modeled conversions with active Advanced Mode. More information is available in the Google Ads Consent Mode help.
We recommend first checking whether Advanced Consent Mode is correctly activated. Then you should verify in Google Ads reports whether the minimum volume is being reached. Additionally, switching to Enhanced Conversions can provide extra data points. This way, you increase the likelihood that Google Ads will display modeled conversions.
In summary, conversion modeling requires both Advanced Mode and sufficient data volume. For assistance with optimizing your setup, contact our team.
